Responsible for driver safety, including safe driving and injury prevention. Responsible for accident investigation, reporting, and trend analysis. Responsible for insurance reporting and communication with the TPA and department Claims Specialist.
Ensures safety among drivers.
Develops and implements safety programs with the Director of Loss Prevention and Safety.
Keep abreast of DOT regulations and assists the Compliance Manager with FMCSA enforcement.
Champions the company's Behavior Based Safety Program with drivers and Transportation Management.
Makes recommendations in the hiring of new drivers. Train all newly hired drivers in safety related and best practice matters.
Provides guidance to Transportation management on required discipline and coaching.
Conducts accident investigations. Look for trends through data analysis, bench marking, and comparisons to industry standards.
Responsible for substance abuse testing NIDA & Non-NIDA on all drivers.
Teaches defensive driving and other safety related classes.
Spends considerable time on the road, monitoring drivers
Responsible for safety, certifications and training of employees transitioning from Driver Training Program.
Conducts and evaluates MVR searches as required by law and in compliance with company policies.
Supervises operation to comply with all applicable FSMA regulation, as well as Company Food Safety Plan, policies, procedures and standards.
Responsible for developing and communicating injury prevention techniques for the drivers in conjunction with the Safety Manager and Athletic Trainer.
Responsible for reporting Auto Liability accidents to the TPA and working with the adjuster to ensure claim resolution.
All other duties assigned by supervisor.
Experience in a Transportation role and college education required. Knowledge of state and federal DOT, EPA, accident investigation and HACCCP required. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to teach. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule. Microsoft office skills required.
